"Big Bubba Ray" (eganward01)

I ended up not having time for the tune up on the Bug today because I had other things to attend to unfortunately. I was out cruising in the Bug running errands and everything was running fine. When I pulled into my neighborhood, my engine started making weird noises and I lost a ton of power. Luckily I was less than a quarter mile from my house so I limped the Bug home.
I pushed the car into the garage to diagnose the problem and I started with popping the valve covers off both sides and taking a look. I noticed that the pushrod had slipped out of the rocker seat on the cylinder #1 exhaust valve. I removed all the rockers from that side of the engine and pulled the pushrod to make sure it wasn't bent or warped at all; thankfully it wasn't. I think the rocker over the valve needed to be tightened up and that's why it slipped.
Could the pushrod slip have caused any damage to my valves? If so, I unfortunately might have to tow the bug to a garage to get the valves fixed because that is out of my area of expertise.
